No need to take our word for it. Your browser’s Network tab lists every request the page sends: none of them carries your file.
You will see a few technical signals: the tool name, the number of pages, the free-quota check. Never the file, its name or its text. “Local” refers to how the PDF is processed, not to the absence of any connection.
Another proof: turn off your connection and signing still works.

What if someone else needs to sign?
It’s a separate process that you start yourself. The document is encrypted in your browser before it is sent; the key travels in the link, never in our database. The signer doesn’t need an account: they verify their email address with a code, open the document, then accept or decline.

Is it really free?
Yes, for signing and the PDF tools: three documents without an account, then unlimited access with just a confirmed email address, with no subscription and no payment. Quotes, invoices and due dates are part of Parapheo Pro.
Is my signature legally valid?
Parapheo adds a visual representation of your signature: under eIDAS, this is a simple electronic signature. It is not an advanced or qualified signature. For an important document, ask the recipient which level they expect.
A few useful habits: date it in the text (“Signed in Lyon on…”), add “Read and approved” or “Agreed”, keep the email you send it back with, initial every page and don’t edit the PDF after signing.
Where are my quotes and invoices stored?
In your browser, on this device, with no syncing. Back up regularly: the backup can be exported and encrypted with a passphrase.
How do I get someone to sign remotely?
