Add a handwritten signature to a PDF
Free · In your browser
A handwritten signature can be drawn directly or imported from a photo. Either way, Parapheo embeds it in the content of the PDF page and lets you adjust its position and size before export.
Method 1: draw the signature
- Import the PDF, then tap where the signature should go.
- In the menu that opens at that spot, choose “Draw a signature”.
- Sign with your mouse, finger or a stylus. Adjust the colour and thickness, then save.
- It is placed straight away where you tapped: no second gesture, no going back to a panel.
Method 2: import a photo or a scan
Sign with a dark pen on a white sheet, photograph the area up close and import the image. The “Remove background” option turns light pixels transparent, so you don't get a white rectangle on the PDF.
Removing the white background properly
- use even lighting and avoid your phone's shadow;
- crop the photo as close to the signature as possible;
- raise the threshold if some grey is still visible;
- lower it if thin strokes start to disappear.
Remember the signature privately
The remember box keeps the image in your browser's local storage. It is not sent to Parapheo. The “Clear everything” link deletes it from the device immediately.
Handwritten signature and legal value
The embedded image is a simple electronic signature. It shows your agreement but does not automatically identify the signer the way a qualified signature would. Keep the context of the exchange and read the explanations on legal value.
