The story of Parapheo
At first, I just wanted
to sign a PDF.
A personal need. A sensitive contract. And the feeling that a very simple task had become needlessly complicated. That is how Parapheo was born.

The trigger
I was looking for a helping hand.
Not one more obstacle.
I had a document to sign. Nothing extraordinary: just a practical need, the kind you come across in your personal life or at work. Except that this contract contained sensitive information. I wanted to keep it at home, on my device.
The solutions I found kept bringing me back to the same frustration: pay, wait, or hand my document over to a service when all I wanted was to add a signature to it. Eventually, it got on my nerves. Why did such a simple task have to be so complicated?
I did not want my contract to travel.
I simply wanted to be able to sign it.
So I built a solution for my own needs. A tool where the document stays on the device while you sign it. That is where Parapheo started.
From a personal need to sharing
First for me.
Then for the people around me.
Once the tool was built, I shared it with the people around me. What had helped me could help others too. Little by little, I put Parapheo online, so that this helping hand would not stay limited to the people I knew.
Today, the idea is still the same: helping you finish your document simply. Add a signature, initials, a stamp, a date or text, then leave with your PDF. From your computer or your phone.
I also want to be clear about privacy, without promising you more than what the tool actually does.
In local mode, the PDF is opened, edited and exported in your browser: its content is not uploaded. If you choose to get someone to sign remotely, that is a separate workflow, with a document encrypted before it is sent.
“Local” refers to how the PDF is processed, not to the absence of any connection: the account, the quota and aggregated measurements rely on technical exchanges. See the data involved.
